WeaversCalifornia Market Center Suite A829(213) 891-1526Juniors label Weavers debuted a woven line, Band of Gypsies, in January, and Weavers opened a more than 2,500-square-foot showroom in the California Market Center earlier this month.Previously, Weavers and sister lines Weavers Girl and Band of Gypsies were located in a series of separate, smaller showrooms on the CMC’s eighth floor. But Weavers principal Fabian Oberfeld thought a large, single showroom would be the best place to exhibit all lines to his company’s juniors customers. The showroom has seven showing areas, but the look of the space is light and refined and focused on simplicity, Oberfeld said. “We didn’t want the furniture to show off,” Oberfeld said. “All of the [showroom’s] feeling comes from the clothes.”All of the lines are affordable and trend-right. Weavers’ knit tops and bottoms range in wholesale price points from $8 to $15. Band of Gypsies’ woven tops range from $4 to $10 wholesale. Each has more than 150 pieces per line.Weavers’ parent company is Los Angeles–based Unger Fabrik LLC, which also owns misses line One World Apparel. Oberfeld does not forecast the company will acquire or develop a new line in the near future. Instead, the company is looking to build its existing brands. “We’re looking for organic growth,” he said.—A.A.
