Directives West Spring 2012

On Oct. 17 fashion and retail consulting firm Directives West gave its forecast for contemporary trends with a quickly paced 88-look runway show on the California Market Center’s Lobby Patio.

Trends included classic American looks of crisp basics and delicate heirloom wovens; prints and designs influenced by African, Latin American and tribal patterns; and some long and fluid silhouettes.

Contemporary looks for the Spring also will offer some cropped Audrey Hepburn–style pants, 1980s shorts, pullover knit tops, maxidresses, and preppy blazers. Fashion brands on the runway included Whitney Eve, Matty M, Lovebyrd, Miilla, Skies Are Blue, Lolly, Go Make Noise, Denimocracy, Blondes Make Better Tee Shirts and Again. The show also showcased collections from Australian fashion labels Ketz-Ke and Cameo.—Andrew AschPhotos from the event can be found here.
