Lectra, Pantone Talk Color with Retailers

Color forecaster Pantone is kicking off a discussion of color trends at a presentation organized by French equipment and technology provider Lectra.

The Design and Color Management Seminar, set for Nov. 2 at Parsons The New School for Design in New York, begins with a presentation by Laurie Pressman, Pantone’s vice president of fashion, home and interiors on Pantone’s latest color trends.

The presentation is being followed by a panel of industry experts to discuss the challenges of improving design and color workflows.

Simon Poulton, vice president of sales for strategic fashion and PLM (product lifecycle management) is moderating the panel. In addition to Pressman, panelists include Keith Hoover, director of quality and testing for JCPenney; Kate Baldanza, director of graphics for Walmart;Priscilla Ghaznavi, senior color and trend design manager for Walmart; Kathryn Taylor, senior enterprise color specialist for Victoria’s Secret; Brook Skinner, director of print, color and concept for LaSenza/Limited Brands; Don Beck, senior consultant for design and color workflows for Lectra; Carmelina Pagano, executive vice president for 24 Seven; Mike Fralix, president and chief executive officer of [TC]sup2;;James Mendolia, Parsons interim director of fashion marketing and assistant professor; and Luciana Scrutchen, Parsons director of fashion design and assistant professor.
