All That Chaz On Dancing With the Stars

Well, well, well. We’re back to another round of “Dancing with the Stars,” which premiered last night on ABC TV.

Being a ballroom dancer, I could see there were some very good, not so good and what were they thinking dancing that went on.

At least everyone started off on the same left foot. No hidden dancers in this crowd.

On the fashion front, we can say this. The ladies looked great. There were a lot of nice flowing waltz-inspired dresses and hot cha-cha-cha fringe sashaying about.

For the men, there were the standard suits, except for Meta World Peace. Who? Oh yeah, That guy once called Ron Artest, one of the newest Lakers on the court.

Now onto the dancing. Chynna Phillips, whose mom was singer Michelle Phillips, was very good, almost like a ballerina. So, she might have some hidden dance talents there.

Actor David Arquette was not bad. Funny character. Looks like he will get a good following. Also, Courtney Cox and the kid were there for support. So. What does that mean?

Actress Ricki Lake was fun to watch. She really surprised me. She was really enjoying herself. A little too happy. But, what can you expect when your dance partner is the three-time disco ball winner Derek Hough. Next time they really need to give him a dud.

Elizabetta Canalis, what can I say. George Clooney’s ex was not good. Send her home. There were times when she had to dance by herself. God forbid. No rhythm. Bye!

Rob Kardashian, not bad. But not impressive. But ok. I guess momager figures she need's to get a percentage from him too.

JR Martinez, the actor from “All My Children,” did a very good job first time out. I think voters will keep him in because of his story. If you don't know, he was in Iraq and had a tragic accident.

Nancy Grace, not too impressive. But, I guess the devil will be dancing tonight.

Now, for the main reason they had everybody stay tuned to that show for two hours. It was to see Chaz Bono with all of his controversy. Actually, not bad. He did a pretty good job.

But, I think they strategically gave him the cha cha as his first dance and not the waltz. Probably they thought it wouldn't offend that much. It's not the waltz, which requires closeness. Oh yeah, no Cher sighting.
