Push For Retail Jobs

The National Retail Federation announced it would spend $10 million for a year-long push to grow jobs in the retail sector. The plan is to lobby lawmakers as well as launch a social media and advertising campaign and a website that highlights retail’s role in the economy. NRF’s agenda includes a 13-point legislative wish list. The top priorities include corporate tax reform, fixing or repealing the employer healthcare mandates, and enacting the Main Street Fairness Act, which would force online retailers to collect sales tax.
