Play With Your Type

See the 3D B?

French artist Jerome Corgier is taking typography to new dimensions. Corgier is experimenting with what Imprint magazine called “type sculptures,” with folded and layered paper. (Hat tip to Salon.)

The artist’s studio—Atelier Pariri—has done work for Louis Vuitton and The New York Times’ T magazine.

Here is a piece from a project Corgier created in partnership with Lebanese graphic designer Lara Captan, in which Latin and Arabic typography are combined.

Here is another one—part of the artist’s research for a logo for illustration agency Marlena Agency.

And here are a few more that play with the idea of 3D type. The second is also from Corgier’s collaboration with Captan.
