New Marketing Execs at Quiksilver

Quiksilver Inc. has created two new marketing positions that havebeen filled by former surfers.

The Huntington Beach,Calif.–based company named Ryan “Scano” Scanlon as senior vice president ofmarketing, Quiksilver Americas. The surfwear maker also named Taylor Whisenandas senior vice president of marketing operations, Quiksilver Americas.

Scanlon is a 12-yearveteran at Quiksilver with a background in merchandising and design as well ascreative marketing. Most recently, he was the senior vice president of globalproduct.

Whisenand is known forfounding the eyewear brand Salt Optics. He was a Quiksilver-sponsored surfer and laterserved as Quiksilver team manager, promotions manager, and events andadvertising manager. Eventually, he led the marketing department at the age of27 before leaving and co-founding his own company.
