Look at You, Ditto!

Online eyewear retailer Ditto launched today with technology that lets you try on sunglasses and ophthalmic frames virtually using a webcam.

Visitors can quickly create a “Ditto”—essential a video avatar of you. The Ditto lets shoppers try on frames, see how they look from the front or side and compare styles. Ditto shoppers can also share some of the images on Facebook to get friends to weigh in on their favorite styles.

The e-tailer carries a wide range of brands, including Persol, Chloe, Ray Ban and Vera Wang, for men and women.

According to the Wall Street Journal, the Mountain View, Calif., company recently landed $3 million in funding from August Capital.
