Calling All Designers!

Intel and W Hotels have teamed up to launch a short film competition, highlighting the best in global travel and design, and “inspired by the intense energy of the global jet-setter.”

The two brands are reaching out to “leading innovators in travel, film, business, fashion and design” to submit scripts for a ten-minute film set in a W Hotel and featuring an Intel Ultrabook as a key character in the script.

The competition will be curated by film director and screenwriter Roman Coppola and his production company, The Directors Bureau.

Roman and a panel of judges – including VICE’s Eddy Moretti, actor Michael Pitt and fashion icon/actress Chloe Sevigny – will chose three screenplays that will be produced by The Directors Bureau and shot at a W Hotel in the Maldives, Doha, Mexico City or Washington D.C.

A fourth film will be written and directed by Roman, who co-wrote Wes Anderson’s latest film, “Moonrise Kingdom.”

The films will premiere at red carpet events in select W Hotels around the world and be distributed online.

The “Four Stories” competition starts today and runs through August 30. For more information, visit the website.
