Even Babies Are Fashionistas

For the fashionable baby who has everything, why not a fancy-looking diaper?

In recent years, big-name producers of disposable diapers have come up with designer-like takes on a mundane item that is here today and gone within hours, if not minutes.

Designer Cynthia Rowley did her part by creating 11 styles for Procter Gamble's disposable Pampers diapers. She styled the diapers in pastels, stripes, madras and ruffles that sold at Target.

Kimberly-Clark went one step further and had denim-style diapers that launched in 2010. They were very popular, selling 60 million. They later came out with a camouflage version.

Now gDiapers, a small company in Portland, Oregon, has come up with its own twist to the fashionable diaper problem. The group has created a Fall collection of cotton gPants that come in various bright colors and slip over disposable diapers. that are 100 percent biodegradable. The diapers can be home composted (only in Portlandia), tossed or flushed.

They also have matching T-shirts that go with the gPants.
