Triple Aught Design Implements Centric 8 in the Cloud

San Francisco–based apparel and equipment manufacturer Triple Aught Design (TAD) has selected Campbell, Calif.–based Centric Software Inc.—a provider of product lifecycle management (PLM) software for apparel, footwear, luxury and consumer-goods companies—as the provider of its PLM software, which includes Centric’s line planning, product specification, sourcing and calendar-management modules.According to a company statement, TAD decided to transition to in-house sourcing, development and production management to avoid the use of spreadsheets for managing product information, as well as to standardize data and processes, create unification with product design and production, and eliminate data-entry errors.

TAD selected Centric because of the flexibility within the Centric 8 PLM apparel software and the Centric team’s willingness to accommodate a cloud-based implementation, the company stated. TAD is the first Centric customer to implement in the cloud.

“The option to implement in the cloud was of primary importance to us,” said Brett Eisenberg, chief executive officer of TAD. “Lower cost of ownership and the elimination of the need to hire or divert additional resources to IT overhead help us maintain core focus on the design and production of the high-quality apparel and equipment for which Triple Aught Design has become known.”

Centric deployed the PLM system implementation using Amazon Web Services.
