Gores Group Buys Twelfth Street by Cynthia Vincent
The Gores Group LLC, the Los Angeles investment firm, added another brand to its growing portfolio of fashion companies.
Los Angeles–based contemporary brand Twelfth Street by Cynthia Vincent joins the lineup, which includes New York–based high-end coat and dressmaker J. Mendel, Los Angeles–based juniors label Big Strike Inc., international retailer Mexx and trim company Scovill Fasteners.
Owned by Los Angeles billionaire Alec Gores, The Gores Group has for the past two years been acquiring companies all along the apparel supply chain. Before tuning his eye to fashion, Gores specialized in turning around underperforming technology and industrial companies.
Designer Cynthia Vincent will remain as chief creative officer with the company she founded in 2003.
