While in Las Vegas earlier this week, I bumped into Drew Bernstein, owner of L.A. brands Lip Service and KillCity.
The always entertaining Bernstein had plenty of news.
First, there’s a new line at Lip Service—it’s called Widow and it’s an edgy men's and women's collection which was showing at Pooltradeshow.
Thecompany recently streamlined its Lip Service collection into threegroups: Industrial Vice (fetish, latex, clubwear), Black Steam (gothic, steampunk) and Rocker—which Bernstein described thusly:
“That’s where the ’Skinny Stretch F*cking’ jean is. Write that down—’Skinny Stretch F*cking Jean.’”
Here's another piece from the Widow collection:
Bernstein also has news on the Kill City retail front, as well. He’s pulled up stakes from the Melrose Heights neighborhood and moved his store a few blocks east to a larger 1,800-square-foot space at 7266 Melrose Ave. The new store has room for the collection, plus an art gallery, photo studio and performance space, where the company will host live music events, called “Live at Kill City.”
“So now we can say ’live’ and ’kill’ in the same sentence,” Bernstein said.
