Christian Audigier Still Trying to Sell Two Properties

How tough is the housing market?

Maybe Christian Audigier, the former guru of Ed Hardy apparel, could tell you. He has been trying to shed a couple of properties without success.

In May he listed his spectacular Hancock Park mansion at 600 S. Muirfield for $8.26 million. The 8,276-square-foot property includes seven bedrooms, seven bathrooms, a gourmet kitchen, swimming pool and a 20-foot built-in hotel bar. But the housing marketing being what it is, there have been no takers. So now the price has been reduced to $7.65 million. Bargain?

Same story on the apparel guy's Topanga Canyon pied-a-terre. The rustic place built in 1931 on three acres may have only three bedrooms and two baths, but it does have four guest houses and room for horses. Audigier bought it in 2008 for $2.15 million and has been trying to sell it since October for $3.299 million. You can also rent it for $16,500 a month. Bargain?

Since last year, Iconix Brand Group in New York has owned 85 percent of the Ed Hardy label, bought from Audigier's company, Nervous Tattoo, for $62 million. The other 15 percent belongs to tattoo artist Don Ed Hardy.

Not long ago, there was an Audigier sighting in Beverly Hills, as noted in a blog by my colleague Andrew Asch. Check it out.
