Tommy Bahama Takes The Grove

Party at Tommy Bahama Summer Pop-Up Lounge.

Tommy Bahama is all about good times. On June 27, the island-inspired lifestyle collection let the good times roll under its Summer Pop-Up Lounge, an open tent, at The Grove retail center where it served mai-tais and martinis to L.A. stylists and celebs like Kevin Nealon.

“It was just a place to hang out,” said Rob Goldberg, Tommy Bahama’s chief of marketing. The Seattle-based brand is known well for its signature piece, the colorful, light-hearted Camp shirt. In 2013, it will introduce a women’s collection with a Brazilian flavor as well as unconstructed blazers and colored bottoms for the guys.

The Tommy Bahama summer lounge was only open for one day. But it’s not a total bummer for those who missed it. By November, the label will open a Tommy Bahama restaurant and store on Manhattan’s 5th Avenue. There will be new shops opening in Chicago, Houston, King of Prussia,Pennsylvania as well as Hong Kong and Tokyo in February 2013.
