So what do you do the day after the Council of Fashion Designers of America awards in New York?

If you’re actress Sophia Bush, you hop on a plane back to Los Angeles and talk about saving the world one bag at a time.

With menswear design Apolis, Bush helped design the latest look in the company’s Apolis Market Bag. It’s a reusable shopping bag manufactured by a women’s collective in rural Bangladesh. Funds from the bag sales and Apolis’ Defend Tomorrow Campaign will invest in the Bangladesh Sewing Academy, which provides equipment and training for women who are widowed or heads of their households in poor, traditional parts of Bangladesh.

During a party for the bag debut on June 5, Bush made remarks to the crowd that if you don’t like where the world is going, do something about it by being an activist. She claimed activism will help improve your social life.”People in your life are more cool than if you are self-obsessed,” she said.
