TV's Fashion Star Show Hunting for Designers

Do you believe you're the next hot designer but nobody knows it yet?

Here's your chance to break into the big time. NBC's 'Fashion Star' television show is casting for its next season that begins in mid-September.

The show's crew is traveling across the country and hunting far and wide for talented designers. Lucky for us in Los Angeles, the first casting call is here at the Fashion Institute of Design Merchandising on June 30.

After Los Angeles, the casting directors will travel to Chicago, Dallas, San Francisco, Miami, New York and Atlanta, looking for designers to appear on the show.

Ultimately 12 designers will be selected to present their ideas to buyers from HM, Macy's and Saks Fifth Avenue. The show, which shoots for six weeks, presents weekly challenges

The open casting call at FIDM, located at 919 S. Grand Ave., is from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Designers must bring two to 10 ready-to-wear garments to show. If you can't make the casting call, there is a way to submit an application and video.
