Me-Ality In California

Me-Ality kiosk at North Point Mall near Atlanta, GA.

The Me-Ality body scanning kiosk was introduced in late 2010, but it recently installed in a handful of California malls.

It’s at Westfield Main Place Santa Ana, Westfield Culver City, Westfield Santa Anita, Westfield Valencia, Westfield West Covina, Westfield Topanga Canyon and The Oaks at Thousand Oaks, Calif.

Me-Ality determines a person’s body measurements throughmillimeterwave technology, which charts a person's exact measurements through radio waves that bounce off of the moisture in aperson’s skin. Typical scans take 15 seconds. The kiosk is said to use 1/1000th of the radio waves of a cell phone call.

Once a person’s body measurements are confirmed, Me-Ality creates a list of garments which would fit a certain body type and the retailers selling those styles.

Currently there are 65 Me-Ality kiosks operating in the US. By the end of 2012, Me-Ality’s parent company, Unique Solutions, based in Nova Scotia, Canada, will run a fleet of 200 Me-Ality kiosks in America.
