Designers Sequoia Emmanuelle and Gita Salem looked west for inspiration for their Fall 2012 S&G collection, shown March 9 at Concept L.A. Fashion Week at Ace Gallery Los Angeles. But instead of hitching the collection to the classic Western hero, the designers set their sights on the classic Western villain. “We had such a great time thinking of the villains,” said Emmanuelle.

Set to a Western soundtrack accented with Mexican horns, the runway show featured men’s and women’s styles in classic villain black. Each model was topped with a wide-brimmed black hat. Highlights for women included a jersey dress with cape sleeves and a corset-style tip in jersey and leather with a fringe of ruffled leather at the hem. For men, there was a bondage vest that belted three times across the chest. Men’s jeans were crisscrossed with leather trim, as were the women’s leggings.

Emmanuelle said much of the collection was made with natural fibers.
