L.A. Apparel Company Enters the "Shark Tank" on ABC TV

A look from the GoGo Gear collection

Make sure you tune in tomorrow night (March 23) to watch ABC's "Shark Tank."

One of our very own Los Angeles apparel company owners, Arlene Battishill of GoGo Gear, and her partner, Desiree Estrada, are pitching their incredibly stylish line of motorbike jackets and Kevlar jeans to five investing sharks who will give them a thumbs up or down.

GoGo Gears' fashion appeared in the California Apparel News in 2009 when the collection was on the runway at a show organized by business incubator Fashion Business Inc. at the California Market Center.

I was there and was blown away by how stylish protective motorcycle gear could be. Battishill also has an incredible story. She was working as a project manager on a $300 million housing project being developed by Brookfield Homes when the bottom dropped out of the economy and she knew a pink slip was looming. Battishill took out more than $200,000 from her 401K pension fund to jump start her new business.

It's been a long haul, but things are looking up. Battishill tweeted that the show hasn't even aired yet and she has already gotten an inquiry from an investor.
