Gap Taps Menswear Designers for Exclusive Collection

Meet the designers

The Gap people have been very busy lately.

They just announced hiring a new creative director, Rebekka Bay. Now the San Francisco retailer is joining forces with some of America's top menswear designers to debut a limited-edition collection of men's clothing that will appear on Sept. 27 at selected stores around the country and at the company's online shopping site at www.gap.com.

Among those top-notch designers is Johan Lindeberg, a Swedish designer who for a while was working with Los Angeles-based People's Liberation. Lindeberg was creative director for the company's William Rast label, which was done in conjunction with celebrity Justin Timberlake. Lindeberg is now the creative director for BLK DNM, a denim line.

The new Gap collection will include hats, belts, knit ties and scarves, graphic T-shirts, fleece hoodies, mohair cardigans, chinos, cargo pants, wool trousers, blue jeans, blazers and leather bombers.

The other designers are Ian Velardi, Mark McNairy, twin brothers Ariel and Shimon Ovadia, Morgan Collett, Josh Rosen, Colin Tunstall and Todd Snyder.
