THE GROVE = BRYANT TENTS?

L.A. Fashion Council Shows to The Grove

After a few seasons of producing Los Angeles Fashion Week runway shows in downtown Los Angeles, the Los Angeles Fashion Council announced that it would produce its next shows at The Grove retail center.

Kelsi Smith, the director of LAFC, will produce two days of runway shows at The Grove. They are scheduled to run Oct. 9 – 10. The shows will be produced around the retail center’s green area, called The Park, which is at the center of The Grove.

Smith called The Grove Los Angeles’ own Bryant Park. “It has a very central location,” she said. “It helps connect the dots between retail and fashion. It’s not just a party, it’s a business event.”

As for downtown Los Angeles, Smith said, “We love downtown. We have a commitment to the fashion industry in Los Angeles. But we’ve run into difficulties. Not everyone wants to go to downtown Los Angeles. It was hard to find a permanent space.”
