STORE RE-OPENING

Scout's Vintage Gems

Scout Los Angeles moved its specialty vintage boutique to Melrose Ave. in West Hollywood, neighboring the cool digs of Nudie Jeans and Creatures of Comfort.

Last night, vintage mavens hosted a party to salute its reopening. Owner and designer Joey Grana knows how to throw a party. The shindig included bubbly and petite servings by pastry chefs Koa Duncan and Alex Moreno.

Guests shopped new Rites jewelry designed by Richard Wainwright, a collaborative effort between Grana and himself. “I have been buying vintage jewelry for Scout for about five years now. When Joey decided to move locations, he thought why not create a jewelry collection exclusively for the store,” Wainwright said. Retail prices for silver pieces average $250 and $150 for brass.

Covetable vintage designs by Ann Demeulemeester, Comme de Garcons, Jean Paul Gaultier, Celine, Moschino and Chanel lined the store, mixing in an ethnic, classic, and 90s flair. A white Prada rash guard style top went for $148, while higher end garments averaged $248. The boutique’s own in-house collection was also showcased and available for purchase.
