Taking Fashion By Strategy

In warehouses and lots across the city, Creative Warrior Guerilla Marketplace seeks to bring fashion minds together in a space that brings it all back home. It’s a market, a showcase and a party. The marketplace’s co-producer, Amy Jo Davies, put one of these events together in the Cypress Park area of L.A. on Dec. 21. Indie fashion designer Monah Li exhibited some of her bodice inspired dresses. L.A. music hero Joey Altruda spun some righteous reggae. There was a Christmas tree made out of disco balls.

“This is a good hang,” Davies said. “There is good music. People have a lot of fun hanging out,” she said. The next Creative Warrior Guerilla Marketplace is scheduled for March. Visit the market’s website for more info.
