LA Fashion District Unveils App

The Los Angeles Fashion District Business Improvement District (BID) has released a mobile app for iPhone users to navigate the district and plans to release an Android app later this year.

In development since last year, the app was created by Enfuse Creative Design, the company that developed the Los Angeles Fashion District website.

The app was created to address many frequently asked questions about the district, including locating parking and specific businesses.

“Our new communication tools are designed to enhance the shopper experience for both experienced shoppers and first-time visitors,” said Kent Smith, executive director of the LA Fashion District BID, the nonprofit organization that provides maintenance and security and helps promote the LA Fashion District. “We focused on things our team gets the most inquiries about—specifically, parking and parking-related issues,” Smith said.

In addition to locating parking lots on the street, rooftop or underground, the app allows users to save their car’s location once they have parked, so they can use the app’s geo-location software to navigate back to their car at the end of their visit.

Visitors can also use geo-location to find nearby businesses. The app includes directions to the district, a guide to the district’s signage, a downloadable self-guided tour and a link to the district’s website.

The LA Fashion District BID is funded by more than 500 property owners within the 100-block LA Fashion District. For more information, visit www.fashiondistrict.org.
