Garrett Leight's Spectacle

What do ya do after launching a luxe eyewear brand?

If you’re Garrett Leight, you start publishing a magazine.

On Nov. 15, Garrett Leight threw a party to celebrate the second issue of his magazine Spectacle of California. The soiree also noted the fourth anniversary of his Garrett Leight California Optical shop at A. Kinney Court, on the very stylish Abbot Kinney Boulevard.

The biannual mag features musings and photography on new sounds, foods and of course, beautiful fashion shoots featuring Garrett Leight’s shades.

One of my favorite pieces in the mag was a ‘Love Letter to Los Angeles’ penned by Patrick Sullivan. Sully really captured some of the core mysteries of this megalopolis. Here’s an excerpt from the love letter;

“If you’re from the West Side, the Valley might not count. But, if you’re from Watts, the West Side might not count. Is Long Beach really in LA, or do people just love Snoop? I mean, c’mon, the Angels think that Anaheim is in LA. We all know that can’t be right….So maybe LA isn’t so much of a location as a feeling you get, a vibe…”

Yeah.
