Ina Soltani Infuses Her Spring 2014 Collection With a Hollywood Vibe

Designer Ina Soltani may be from Sarajevo, Bosnia, but she's in love with Hollywood.

For her Spring 2013 collection, she took a chapter out of the Hollywood history book, circa 1940s and 1950s, to create a collection long on sophistication and red carpet looks.

With black-and-white images of well-known Hollywood sirens such as Marilyn Monroe, Ava Gardner and Katharine Hepburn flashing on a screen behind the runway, models sashayed down the catwalk in ultra-gorgeous gowns that had an air of a out-on-the town evening on Sunset Boulevard.

The predominant color for evening gowns was black, with rhinestone accents on the sleeves or at the waist. Silhouettes included halter tops, strapless gowns or off-the-shoulder looks. Ruched fabric added power to the looks.

Cocktail dresses with full skirts were also in the line-up. Particularly striking was a red silk dress whose halter top tied around the neck and ended in a big red bow.

Soltani showcased 27 creatons that earned her a hearty applause after the Oct. 13 show at Style Fashion Week LA, held at LA Live in downtown Los Angeles.
