Mister Cartoon's Goalie Mask & Shirts for L.A. Kings

The Los Angeles Kings gave a jolt to Los Angeles’ appreciation of hockey when they won the Stanley Cup in 2012.

Celebrated graffiti and tattoo Artist Mister Cartoon often shows L.A. County’s tough side what with his depiction of ghettos and the ‘smile now, cry later’ world view of cholos.

The tough guy artist had to get together with the NHL tough guys, right?

Cartoon lent his unique and very Los Angeles interpretation of the Kings logo to a limited edition capsule collection of Kings merchandise. He also crafted a Mister Cartoon goalie mask, which was worn by Jonathan Quick on the Oct. 24 Kings’ game against the Phoenix Coyotes. The mask could have acted as charm. The Kings won 7 to 4.

Proceeds from sales of the Mister Cartoon Kings collection will go to Para Los Niños, a Los Angeles-based non-profit which builds educational and social opportunities for economically disadvantaged children.

The Los Angeles Kings X Mister Cartoon collection is sold online at Team LA Store and at Staples Center where the Kings play. Perhaps the big question posed by this limited edition collection is this. Is Cartoon’s sometimes frightening art really a stealth good luck charm? Wear the mask again Jonathan Quick!
