HIGH END DESIGN, UP CLOSE

Designer and the Muse's Comeback

Designer and the Muse is making a comeback.

After taking a short hiatus, the fashion event is under new management and is scheduled to take place Oct. 3 at Sofitel Hotel, which across the street from Beverly Center in Los Angeles.

Some of Los Angeles’s high end designers; Lloyd Klein, Louis Verdad, Chagoury Couture, Sue Wong, along with Project Runway alums Michael Costello and Gordana Gehlhausen and jewelry designer Joe Vilaiwan of Vilaiwan Fine Jewelry, will show their signature looks through installations, and talk to the press and fashion savvy people at the event. More designers will be confirmed, said Dorothy Mannfolk, one of the new producers of Designer and the Muse.

“It’s amazing when you get so many creative minds in one room,” Mannfolk said. “We want everyone to have fun and have an opportunity to be among designers in a more relaxed atmosphere,” she said.

À La Mode Productions will be producing the new Designer and the Muse team. A La Mode is Susan Stein, creative producer and director of Fashion Week El Paseo and Mannfolk, veteran fashion and beauty publicist who heads Mannfolk Public Relations.

The event is invite-only, but some tickets will be made available too. Some proceeds of ticket sales will be made to not-for-profit organization Breast Cancer Angels. For more information, visit the Eventbrite page for Designer and the Muse.
