The Hello Kitty Convention in L.A.

Hello Kitty is incredibly cute and turning 40 this year.

To celebrate so many years of cuteness, the parent company of everything cute, Sanrio, has revealed that it is hosting a Hello Kitty Con 2014 at The Geffen Contemporary, the adjunct exhibit space associated with the Museum of Contemporary Art.

The four-day event starts on Oct. 30 and ends on Nov. 2. The Geffen will be packed with all sorts of Hello Kitty items, including Hello Kitty fashion, which will be on display at "Lovely Kitty Wonder: A Hello Kitty Fashion Installation" curated by Stephiee Nguyen of JapanLA Clothing. You can see one-of-a-kind creations by 13 designers from all over the globe including Ophelia Overdose, Abigail Greydanus, a-morir, Fiori Couture and dolleyes.

Also on hand will be Hello Kitty head designer Yuko Yamaguchi from Tokyo.

Ticket holders will have access to a special exhibition across the street at the Japanese American National Museum, which runs from Oct. 11 through April 26l. It is called "Hello! Exploring the Supercute World of Hello Kitty," which is the first ever Hello Kitty museum exhibition in North America.
