LA FASHION WEEK FALL 2014

R. Michel’le The Label

When Rachael Broussard’s R. Michel’le The Label line took the runway March 10 at the Designers to Watch showcase at Style Fashion Week, Broussard wanted to offer clothes that any woman can wear. “I wanted to make it stand out, but make it wearable,” she said.

The 21 looks in the show included skirts that were midi-length, just below the knees, as well as turtleneck tops, pants and jackets. The line stood out with bright colors such as pinks, silvers, purples and dark greens, as well as some asymmetrically shaped hems on the dresses.

But the R. Michel’le line’s inner fashion diva could only be contained for so long. The line also featured a purple biker jacket which featured sleeves that unzipped into a cape. An orange dress also featured a short tangerine colored cape on the back. For an extra-curricular activity, Broussard walked the runway in a gown during the Michael Costello show at Style Fashion Week.
