There are plenty of yoga stores in town, but there is not one single Yogasmoga store in the entire state. Until now.

The New York-based designer, manufacturer and retailer of all things yoga, such as clothing and accessories, has its grand opening of its first West Coast store on Nov. 5 when the emporium makes a splash at 11911 San Vicente Blvd. in the Brentwood neighborhood of Los Angeles.

The 2,500-square-foot space is filled with clothing made in the United States out of special fabric being developed here in California and elsewhere.

"We've meticulously designed every aspect of Yogasmogs to embody the soul of yoga – from the top-quality fabrics, innovative colors and designs, product technology, store design and our Namaskar foundation of giving," noted Tapasya Bali, who co-founded the company with her sibling, Rishi. "The name Yogasmoga is a nod to our Indian culture where it's common to rhyme words. Yoga is the genesis of our company and smoga refers to 'things that go with yoga' since we hope to bring a little more than just yoga into our consumers active lives."

The co-founders of the company said their retail presence in California was a natural extension of their fabric development in California under names such as Aurum, Koura and Airh.

Yogasmoga has only one other store, located in Greenwich, Conn.
