Toms and Target Unveil Their Holiday Collaboration

The Holiday collection being unveiled from Toms founder Blake Mycoskie for Target could only come from someone who knows the California casual market like the back of his hand.

The collection is very laid-back with oodles of chambray blues, grays and off-white tones worked into things such as jackets, ponchos and sweaters. Included are Toms' signature soft canvas shoes modeled after Argentinian alpargatas. Throw in a few accessories, menswear, childrenswear and housewares and you are ready to go with this Toms for Target endeavor to be unveiled in stores and online Nov. 16.

The wide-ranging assortment, that sells for under $50, has the same philanthropic model built in as the Toms' buy one shoe we donate another to a person in need philosophy. For each item purchased, Target is donating a blanket, meals or shoes in partnership with Toms and North America-based charities American Red Cross Disaster Relief, Canadian Red Cross Disaster Relief, Feeding America and Food Banks Canada.

Mycoskie's belief of giving back has made his company, based in Playa del Rey, Calif., very successful since it was founded eight years ago. This spring, Mycoskie sold half his company to Bain Capital at a price that values the shoe company at $625 million.
