50 Ways To Shop DTLA

Last year the map counted 36 stores. This year they found 50 boutique style stores in downtown Los Angeles. When they publish another edition of “50 Reasons To Shop DTLA,” probably around Black Friday, Cinnia Finfer and Kuo Yang expect to find more high end boutique shops in the burgeoning shopping district.

When Finfer and Yang started the map in 2014, they got a list of 10 boutiques selling boutique, contemporary and designer fashion. Everywhere they looked, they stumbled on new places, Finfer said.

“What blew me away was a sense of community shared by all of the stores,” Finfer said. “When I talked to people at the stores they would say, “You got to check out this store…Have you been to Los Angeles Street? That’s where Henry Duarte is.”

The map marks 50 addresses where designer and contemporary looks are sold in downtown Los Angeles. The map not only shows the best known shops which have received accolades from national glossy fashion magazines, such as Apolis in the Art District and Oak in the Fashion District. There’s also marks the addresses of designer ateliers such as martinMartin, Nicolas Bowes, Henry Duarte, Beautiful Fül and multi-line boutiques with unique points of view such as Guerilla Atelier, Six Hundred, Curio and Haus of Love.
