Asa from Shahs of Sunset: Time for Caftans & Turbans

Asa Soltan Rahmati not only wants to bring back the turban, she wants more women to wear caftans.

Soltan, part of the cast for the Bravo show Shahs of Sunset, released her line Asa Kaftans in September of last year. The caftans, which come in about thigh-length, knee length, and ankle length, are designed with prints of her artwork. She believes that they can add a new level of sophistication to women’s styles. Current women’s styles let too much hang out, she said.

“Let’s not show everything, all of the time,” Soltan counseled. Sure the caftan may not show every curve, but it can add mystery and sensuality to a woman’s appearance, she guarantees.

It’s currently sold online at her website http://www.asasoltan.com/and at select boutiques.

This summer she intends to produce an official fashion show for her line. The Shahs of Sunset show has provided a lot of exposure for her fashion, but there’s a need for it, she contends. “Women are so over judgemental of themselves and other women,” Soltan said. “I am the opposite of that.”

The upcoming season of Shahs of Sunset starts 10 PM, Monday, March 2.
