A Milan company has launched a Kickstarter campaign for its no-sew button repair product.

Cucibottonne is a device made from recycled plastic that allows you to quickly repair a button without using a needle and thread. It works with two-hole and four-hole buttons, as well as shank buttons.

Cucibottone is a 0.03”-diameter plastic “thread” with a special backing plate. You thread the Cucibottone through your button and fabric and then secure it in the backing plate. Think of it as a tiny ziptie. There’s a video on Cucibottone’s Kickstarter page that illustrates how it works.

Made in Italy from recycled bottle caps, Cucibottone is available in four colors, black, white, blue and clear. The company is hoping to reach its goal of raising $24,678 in the next 44 days so Cucibottone can be mass produced.
