Fashion Week Humor

The onslaught of fashion weeks is upon us, and the New York Times had a bit of fun with the whole thing.

Matthew Schneier and Nathan Pyle put together a very true graphic depiction of what it is like to attend the events in New York or anywhere else in the world. What goes on in New York is the same that goes on in Los Angeles.

They note that a fashion week is really not a week long, that two back-to-back fashion shows will be held at opposite ends of New York and that seat assignments are determined by a complex formula that really doesn't make sense to anyone.

My favorite, however,is the graphic about how most of your time at a fashion show is waiting for the show to start. In their graphic, they note that waiting times can be up to 41 minutes. Frankly, that sounds pretty good considering that many of the fashion shows in Los Angeles are seeing wait times that go up to two hours. We should be as lucky as the New York guys.
