Saks Opens Canada Store

Saks Fifth Avenue opened its first store in Canada on Feb. 18.

The American luxury retailer opened a store at CF Toronto Eaton Centre in Toronto. A second Saks is scheduled to open in Toronto on Feb. 25, said Marc Metrick, president of Saks Fifth Avenue. It will open at CF Sherway Gardens.

“After more than two years of planning, our entry into Canada is truly a milestone for our company. We cannot wait to bring the Saks experience of an elegant edit of the best designer names, coupled with distinctive, personalized service to Toronto,” he said.

Saks Fifth Avenue was acquired in 2013 by Hudson’s Bay Co., which is one of Canada’s prominent department-store retailers. Hudson’s Bay also owns retailers Lord & Taylor, Gilt and Saks OFF 5th.

The Canadian Saks stores will carry brands such as Dior, Valentino, Louis Vuitton, Saint Laurent, Chloé, Céline, Prada and Alexander McQueen.

Saks Fifth Avenue also announced the initiative Saks at Your Service. It brings Saks shopping to a client’s home, office or hotel.
