As Virgin Galactic beefs up its fleet of commercial spaceships, the company turned its attention to the very important work of what the pilots will wear.
To craft the look, Virgin teamed up with Y-3, the Adidas/Yohji Yamamoto collaboration.
Virgin Galactic’s Adam Wells and Y-3's Lawrence Midwood recently unveiled the new all-black flight suits, as well as high-tech, fire-resistant flight boots that look an awful lot like really cool sneakers.
The Verge has details about the new suits and more photos, as well as the news that there will be a limited-edition Virgin/Y3 jacket for those lucky (and wealthy) folks who have put down deposits to be on one of the first suborbital flights.
