Popping Up Inside Opening Ceremony

It was an unusual location that Opening Ceremony chose to debut its first West Coast store in the Los Angeles area. The retailer selected the former Charlie Chaplin dance studios in West Hollywood for its 2007 opening at 451 N. La Cienega Blvd.

Now Mansur Gavriel, a young handbag and shoe label, has put its own stamp on creativity with its custom-designed shop-in-shop space inside Opening Ceremony, which has a multinational approach to retail.

The pop-up space features custom shelving, plants and floral arrangements to showcase the handbag and shoe selections.

Mansur Gavriel was started in New York City by Rachel Mansur and Floriana Gavriel in 2012. The leather for their shoes and handbags comes from the Veneto region of Italy.

Opening Ceremony was founded in 2002 and soon after they opened their first store in New York City. The forces behind Opening Ceremony are UC Berkley friends Carol Lim and Humberto Leon.
