Fashion District Street Being Closed Off for Urban Dinner

If you like dining under the stars right smack dab in the middle of the Los Angeles Fashion District, this dinner is for you.

The Los Angeles Fashion District, which is the business improvement district for the area, is organizing its annual Urban Dinner Party at 6 p.m. on Oct. 20 at the corner of 8th and Santee streets. The block will be closed and a 104-foot-long dinner table will be set up where a four-course meal will be served to those buying an $85 ticket. To give the street a more European feel, lights will be strung over the block.

The meal is being prepared by chef Felix Barron IV of KTCHN DTLA. On the menu are appetizers, a butter lettuce salad, pan-roasted ribeye and a dessert of cardamon-flavored milk ice with sweet thyme coconut milk chia-seeded potage and shaved persimmon. Complimentary wine is provided by Finca La Malena.

Last year the dinner sold out. All proceeds go to the Women's Downtown Center. Tickets can be purchased by going to www.urbandinnerparty.eventbrite.com.
