Schott’s SoCal Season

Schott NYC has crafted some of America’s most iconic leather jackets. There’s the Schott jacket Marlon Brando wore in 1953 anti-authoritarian film The Wild One. Schott jackets also outfitted legendary punk band The Ramones and a host of other influential rockers, artists and bikers throughout the world.

But the venerable New York headquartered outerwear brand must have Southern California on the mind. It recently released a limited collection with Fred Segal. On the epaulets of the jackets, there are pewter pins crafted in the shape of the palm tree, one of the most SoCal of Southern California symbols.

Schott NYC also took a window of another influential Southern California retailer. It’s American Rag Cie in Los Angeles, where Schott displayed its motorcycle jackets, flight jackets and flannels in a prominent storefront window facing La Brea Avenue.

Next month, the brand will get in a party mood. On Nov. 10, Schott will host a party with the Sailor Jerry brand at its shop at the Americana at Brand retail center in Glendale, Calif. Rumored to be on the guest list, tattoo artists who will offer permanent Sailor Jerry tattoos. On Nov. 12, Schott NYC will help host the third anniversary party for Long Beach, Calif.-boutique Snake Oil Provisions. Yowza!
