Annual Urban Dinner Party in LA Fashion District Coming in October
Get ready for an outdoor-dining experience at a 120-foot long table set in a piazza near the Rossoblu restaurant in the LA Fashion District.
The Los Angeles Fashion District District Business Improvement District (BID) is holding its annual urban dinner under the stars at the recently renovated City Market South at 11th and San Julian streets.
The four-course dinner, from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. on Oct. 12, will be prepared by chef Steve Samson of Rossoblu, who will treat guests to a four-course dinner inspired by the places he considers home: Bologna and Los Angeles.
The four-course menu will start with a salad of fresh mixed lettuces with anchovy dressing, Parmigiano Reggiano and dusted bread crumbs, followed by Swiss chard and ricotta cappellacci with tomato, basil, Parmigiano Reggiano and butter sage. For the entree, guests will be served Sangiovese-braised beef short rib with cauliflower puree, roasted carrots, and salsa verde. The night will end with ricotta pound cake with autumn citrus and spiked crema.
Complimentary wine, bocce ball, and live entertainment will complete the night.
“The urban dinner is an opportunity to bring our community together and share the exciting new businesses and developments happening in our neighborhood,” said Rena Masten Leddy, the executive director of the LA Fashion District BID. “Proceeds from this year’s event will help fund a new initiative for public art. The Fashion District is an incredible creative hub and we want to spread that creativity to the public realm.”
Gift cards and merchandise from local businesses will be raffled off during the event. Raffle prizes include tickets to a show at The Orpheum Theatre, suite tickets to a Lakers or Clippers game, and a one-night stay at Ace Hotel DTLA. Guests will automatically be eligible to enter the raffle.
Only 100 tickets, at $120, are available to adults over the age of 21. Tickets can only be purchased online at fashiondistrict.org/urbandinnerparty.
