Ximena Valero, the Los Angeles–based designer known for her versatile and convertible jersey pieces, kicked off her Oct. 14 show at the Fashion on Broadway event at The Los Angeles Theatre with a break dance–inspired dance number meant to highlight her clothes’ shape-shifting attributes. Once the audience got the gist of it—straps become sleeves, nothing is as it seems—Valero sent out a parade of dresses, pantsuits and jumpers that morph into a variety of silhouettes.—Erin Barajas
