The scene: The fashion in the crowd is typically just as entertaining as the designs on the runway at Project Ethos’ events. On Aug. 21, at the Avalon nightclub in Hollywood, the event producer celebrated its fourth year and its 10th event with its proven mix of art, music and fashion. This year, for the first time, Project Ethos added additional shows in the summer; typically, the group hosts two per year, in spring and fall.

“It was an experiment,” said founder and executive director Jason Peskin. “We have been getting a lot of applications. [Normally,] we can only focus on 14 to 16 designers per year.”

After mingling, mugging for photos and checking out the art on display, the well-dressed crowd took in a runway show featuring the work of eight labels: Sam C., Mod Verve, Scandalous Social Club, Brittne, Into the Woods Clothing, DLEN, Junk Underjeans and Jenny P.’s.—Alison A. Nieder
