The Scene: It was a star-studded closing night to celebrate the British Fashion Council’s LONDON show ROOMS. Some of fashion’s finest from the United States and Britain turned out for an exclusive cocktail soiree at Skybar at the Mondrian L.A. The three-day show, held at the ACE Gallery in conjunction with Concept Fashion Week, included some of Britain’s top design talent. Anna Wintour, editor in chief of Vogue; Steven Kolb, chief executive officer of the Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA); and the 2011 CFDA Vogue Fashion Fund finalists were in attendance along with celebrities such as Josh Hartnett and Academy Award nominee Hailee Steinfeld.
LONDON show ROOMS is an international initiative created by the British Fashion Council to help its designers grow their businesses internationally. “LONDON show ROOMS is the British Fashion Council’s international designer showcase that was launched in Paris back in 2008. We have been wanting to bring a collective of some of London’s hottest designers to the West Coast for some time, and the response over these last three days has been phenomenal. We will definitely be back next year,” said Caroline Rush, CEO, British Fashion Council, in a prepared statement.
LONDON show ROOM designers in attendance included Jonathan Saunders, Marios Schwab, Nicholas Kirkwood, Alexander Lewis of E.Tautz, Erdem, Mary Katrantzou, Peter Pilotto, Richard Nicoll, Roksanda Ilincic and Todd Lynn.—N. Jayne Seward
