Where fashion gets down to business
The scene: For the more than 15 student designers at California State University, Northridge, a well-rounded education means knowing a little bit of every fashion style. They showed the breadth of their knowledge at their department’s annual spring design show, which this year was called “Fashionology.”
More than 500 people attended the event, said Krystan Dutton, the treasurer of Trends, the student organization that produced the show. Junior Amy Agajanian made swimwear and evening gowns out of luminous silk dupioni. Lindsay Poole designed gender-bending looks and accessorized her female models with work boots and suspenders. Lananhu Le drew inspiration from 1950s and 1960s looks to create a range of looks from shorts to trench coats. Garrett Underwood’s designs emphasized a streetwear look. —Andrew Asch
