Consumer Confidence Plummeted in October

Consumer confidence plummeted in October, dropping from 97.0 to 85.5, according to the Conference Board, a New York-based research firm. October’s level marks the lowest point for the index since early 1994. Analysts attributed the drop to continuing bio-terrorism fears and employment anxiety and said the economy may take longer than anticipated to recover.
