Wal-Mart in Court

Friday, December 27, 2002

An Oregon jury found that Wal-Mart store managers violated state and federal labor laws by requiring employees to work off the clock to avoid paying overtime. The Bentonville, Ark.–based retail giant says the events, which led to the class-action suit, were “isolated incidents.” More than 400 Wal- Mart employees participated in the suit. Damages have not yet been determined.
