Tolland, Conn.–based Gerber Technology Inc., supplier of CAD/CAM products and cutting-room equipment, has made four key appointments to its product management and global marketing departments.
Hal Osthus has been promoted to executive director of product management, overseeing development of Gerber Technology’s hardware, software and service products. Todd Rhodes has been named director of hardware product management. Jessica Hunt has been named regional marketing manager, and Cheryl Tuttle has been named public relations specialist.
Osthus was previously director of hardware product development. Since 1984, he has served in a number of positions, including general manager of computerized manufacturing systems and director of CAD/CAM and CMS marketing. He holds several U.S. and foreign patents for both mechanical and software innovations.
Rhodes comes to Gerber from sister company Gerber Coburn, where he was director of product management. In his new role, Rhodes will oversee product management for four of Gerber Technology’s hardware-based product lines: multi-ply cutters, single-ply cutters, spreaders, and plotters and peripherals.
Hunt will oversee the development and implementation of regional marketing plans, including direct marketing and telemarketing initiatives. She recently was the Eastern region district sales manager for Dot Foods Inc. and previously was marketing operations manager for Digitas Inc. Tuttle will be responsible for management of Gerber’s public relations activities worldwide. She most recently managed the corporate publishing and public relations functions at Konica Minolta Business Solutions USA Inc.
The appointments are aimed at strengthening Gerber’s global product development and marketing efforts. On Dec. 13, the company reported $44 million in sales for its second quarter, its highest mark since the fourth quarter of 2001.
